The first meeting of the planned series of meetings was held on April 10, 2017 at the Presidential library of Boris Yeltsin. The guest of the meeting was the French Senator and businessman Jean-Pierre Thomas.

Jean Pierre Thomas is the associate of former President of France Nicolas Sarkozy, member of The national Assembly responsible for the development of Franco-Russian cooperation, Vice-President of the Lorraine region, today a representative of large international business, President Thomas Vendom Investment, responsible for investments in Russia of the international Fund AMUNDI.

His appeal to Russia is dictated not only by economic motives, the desire to participate in the modernization of Russia, but also by a deep sympathy for the country and the people.

During the videoconference with Russian universities, were discussed not only actual political and economic issues of relations between Russia and the European Union, as well as prospects for their development, but also practical opportunities for establishing mechanisms of international cooperation.
